Moncler Fall 2020 in Milan

Moncler is a very popular brand most well known for its ski clothes. This Milan Fashion Week, Moncler knocked it’s Fall 2020 collection out of the water with bold prints, fur, and a lot of goggles.

The use of bold pattern that seems flat and stream-line, mixed with the fur head coverings and goggles gave a futuristic chic look. Although many of the outfits were made up of coats and ski-like jackets, they were also paired with small heels that completed the look.

One of my favorite looks included a yellow fur head covering, adorned with diamond-like jewels and daisy goggles. The diamonds make it look vintage and the pops of color complete the look. I think this is so fun and different, and it somehow goes perfectly together.

Another one of my favorite looks from their Autumn/Winter line was this monochromatic look, with one again, a white fur head-piece. The fur coat paired with the fur bag, covered in a blue flower pattern looked super flower child but also modern.

Moncler sure knows how to put on a show. Although with funky prints and cool fur, Moncler defied gravity and had futuristic looking men walking on walls. These suits made use of nylon laqué, one of Moncler’s signature fabrics, and created nothing short of a spectacle. Even without the mind-blowing display, the suits looked ready to wear for your next ski trip.

Maybe without the bug-like goggles.

Moncler kept their traditional puffer jacket like silhouettes and paired it with funky backgrounds, gravity-defying displays, and fur that looks like it would come off of Big Bird from Sesame Street. The 2020 collected looks mismatched but also unified and looked like someone’s bright ideas came to life on the runway. Moncler is a brand that will continue growing in popularity for years to come and will continue to amaze their admirers.

Fabric, Prints, and Fashion

Fabric is very important in our daily lives because it is something that is constantly touching our skin. It is the one thing that we encounter every day even if we are not thinking about it. As a consumer I really never considered fabric a huge part of why I chose certain clothing unless the fabric was extremely soft, then I purchased only because of that.

One of my favorite fabrics is leather or vegan leather because it feels luxurious and goes with everything. It is a staple in any wardrobe.

Lululemon is one brand that is very popular for its use of luon fabric in most, if not all of its products. This luon feels like cotton and is very soft on the skin. This is especially important in workout gear because you are moving frequently and it is necessary that it doesn’t itch or feel uncomfortable when moving.

Frederick Tjaerandsen is one designer that used an unusual material to create his clothing. He actually used rubber balloons to create fashion. The models wore a giant balloon that when deflated turned into a dress. His clothing used air pressure machines to create this crazy, yet beautiful look.

Along with fabric comes unique and different prints that can make fabric come alive. I really admire designers who create their own fabrics and prints. In the show “Next in Fashion” most of the designers begin to create their own prints, and my favorite Chinese designer created prints with a variety of colors. They use digital sketch pads on the show which assist them in making their visions come to life.

Burberry is one brand that has many linear signature prints, that make it such a classic brand. This is like their label because it is so specific to them, and no one else uses their exact print. Prints make designers unique but can also cause issues when other designers copy or use someone else’s print that is so iconic to that brand. This is why you have to be careful and use your creativity at all times in fashion.
