Fabric is very important in our daily lives because it is something that is constantly touching our skin. It is the one thing that we encounter every day even if we are not thinking about it. As a consumer I really never considered fabric a huge part of why I chose certain clothing unless the fabric was extremely soft, then I purchased only because of that.
One of my favorite fabrics is leather or vegan leather because it feels luxurious and goes with everything. It is a staple in any wardrobe.
Lululemon is one brand that is very popular for its use of luon fabric in most, if not all of its products. This luon feels like cotton and is very soft on the skin. This is especially important in workout gear because you are moving frequently and it is necessary that it doesn’t itch or feel uncomfortable when moving.
Frederick Tjaerandsen is one designer that used an unusual material to create his clothing. He actually used rubber balloons to create fashion. The models wore a giant balloon that when deflated turned into a dress. His clothing used air pressure machines to create this crazy, yet beautiful look.

Along with fabric comes unique and different prints that can make fabric come alive. I really admire designers who create their own fabrics and prints. In the show “Next in Fashion” most of the designers begin to create their own prints, and my favorite Chinese designer created prints with a variety of colors. They use digital sketch pads on the show which assist them in making their visions come to life.
Burberry is one brand that has many linear signature prints, that make it such a classic brand. This is like their label because it is so specific to them, and no one else uses their exact print. Prints make designers unique but can also cause issues when other designers copy or use someone else’s print that is so iconic to that brand. This is why you have to be careful and use your creativity at all times in fashion.
